A Bit More Bull from Bob

It took longer than I expected to get around to my second book but so many have asked for it that I simply had to get it done. So here is another collection of all my own poems that I hope you will enjoy.

I was the retail Divisional Manager for IGA Supermarkets for many years and that job allowed me to travel extensively throughout Central Queensland and the West. In doing so I met so many interesting characters who shared their stories and jokes over a beer in the local pub. My poems are many and varied and will cover anything from stories I have been told or events that I have experienced or witnessed. Of course in true Aussie fashion some are tinged with a little bit of bull.

I caught the poetry bug from my dad’s younger sister Pat Little (nee Pacey) who was a prolific author and poet in her own right and it was she who encouraged me to start writing and eventually performing mine and other poets’ works.

My poems have won many awards down through the years and have been featured on many radio stations and shows throughout Australia including Macka on a Sunday Morning. I have won a few written competitions and received many an honourable mention in many other competitions. Several of my poems are featured on the Cowboy Poets of America website and have been accepted into The Australian War Memorial website.

About 'A Bit More Bull from Bob'

Bob had been very successful with his first book of poetry that included many black and white humorous caricatures.

He wanted to achieve the same result for his new book. We were able to draw upon a vast library of royalty fee art to accompany many of Bob's poems.

For the title page design-print-online had access to the thousands of vintage images at Century Library to provide a slighty quirky and amusing banner to open Bob's book (see below).

Bob's poems cover the full gamut of humorous, satire to deeply serious and dramatic. The book includes a wonderful slection of poems for children: 'Ted the Tadpole', 'Peter the Pelican', 'Little Lilly Lizard' and 'Gardening with Grandad'.
